Crows at Sunset over Stormy Skies

James 1:17 "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning."

"...neither shadow of turning." I love that phrase. How beautiful those words are - that the "Father of lights" is the unmoved mover - He does not change.

James is a wonderful book - very powerful. Verse 19 in chapter one says, "Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:"
Verses 20-25, "For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God. Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekenss the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and strightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed."

Wow - beautifully written.

  1. I am super blessed by reading this blog. I had NO IDEA it was from you, Vicki! As I was reading it I thought about how it went hand-in-hand with the sermon Pastor preached this morning. I considered I was getting a confirmation from The Lord on what The Lord was speaking to me during church today......then to see it was actually from you was a very special surprise! Thank you for sending it to me.
    Love you Sister!
