My Mockingbird...

I photographed this lovely Mockingbird in my back yard this week. He was busy singing his song, serenading the kids and I as we worked around the yard. There is just something about a birds song that  makes me smile, gives me pause and makes me stop, take a deep breath and smell the freshly cut grass floating on the cool spring air....to take a moment to look around and thank the Lord for His blessings.....to enjoy that brief moment when God sends me a song to lift my spirit and remind me of His presence. It's the simple things that matter the most.

No Shadow of Turning

This is one of my favorite verses. The words are so beautiful and leave an image of a loving, powerful, infinite God who is constant and steadfast. "...with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning." James writes one simple phrase that paints a profound picture of an unwavering Father who's love for us is without even a glimmer of swaying. Knowing that no matter what happens in life, I can put my trust in the God who is the "unmoved mover".
